ORLANDO TRADE SHOW REGULATIONS:

In order to make your company’s Orlando tradeshow successful, there are many details that must be considered. The Orange County Convention Center has strict regulations in order to ensure the safety of attendees on the show floor. New exhibitors are strongly encouraged to review the Exhibitor Services manual carefully for current rules and regulations. Trying to make sense of these many regulations can be daunting, Image Design & Communications is here to help. Our knowledgeable staff can help you navigate these pitfalls and ensure your trade show exhibit goes off without a hitch. Our turnkey show ready exhibit rentals make it easy for you, but if you choose to set up your own display some of the more important rules to consider when planning to exhibit at an Orlando convention are regulations which govern rigging and set up of electrical equipment.
Rigging Regulations at the Orange County Convention Center
The Orange County Convention Center is the exclusive rigging service provider for exhibitors. All rigging must conform to Show management rules, regulations and facility limitations. The use of any tape/adhesive for attaching signs, banners, or decorations to the building, walls or decorative surfaces is not permitted. In some cases, signs may require a structural engineer’s seal of approval. Rigging plots and blueprints must me submitted to the OCCC Rigging Department a minimum of three weeks in advance of the first move in day for your show and must include the location, dimensions, height above the floor to the top and weight of the suspended item. All points where nylon slings are used will require a steel safety cable. Assembly of equipment and signs is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Anything deemed to be unsafe by the OCCC Rigging Services Department will not be allowed.
Electrical Equipment Regulations at the Orange County Convention Center:
All equipment regardless power source must comply wit the National Electrical Code and all safety codes. The use of open clip sockets, latex or lamp cord wire, unapproved duplex or triplex attachment plugs is prohibited. Permanent building outlets are not to be used by exhibitors unless specified otherwise, and under no circumstances shall anyone other than an OCCC electrician make electrical connections to house equipment. Special equipment requiring company engineers or technician may be executed without a house electrician, but all service connections and overload protection to such equipment must be made by a house electrician. All equipment must be properly tagged or marked with the type and amount of current, voltage, phase, frequency, horsepower, ect. All exhibitors 120 VOLT cords must be of the 3 wire, grounded type. All exposed non-current carrying metal parts of fixed equipment liable to be energized must be grounded.
